Essex Board is a recyclable sheet material made from compacted paper fibres that's used for creating pelmets.
This board makes a great alternative to plywood as it's lighter and easy to work with. It can hold staples without splintering and can be cut easily with a craft knife, allowing you to create shaped pelmets and avoiding any dust that would be created from sawing.
This board it stiff enough to hold its shape yet flexible enough to create a soft curve, unlike wood.
